Life in Marburg

Marburg and the region – in the heart of Hesse

Marburg is an important center of the German pharmaceutical industry and at the same time a lively university town. Science and business are closely linked here and work side by side. The city’s largest employers are Philipps-University Marburg, the University Hospital and us, CSL Behring.

Life in Marburg

Living in Marburg means a historic city center with many bars, cafés, restaurants, theaters and museums just a short distance away, together with a good infrastructure and nature right on your doorstep. The cityscape is shaped by many historic buildings, winding alleys and the lively hustle and bustle of young families and students. Marburg has around 76,000 inhabitants and Philipps-University over 25,000 students. At the same time, the forest, rivers, mountains and valleys offer nearby recreation. Hiking, paddling, golfing or horseback riding, evenings with friends in the city center, trips to the theatre or Sundays in museums – Marburg is a great place to live.

Central location and good connections

Marburg is located in the middle of the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf and is well connected. From here, you can quickly reach Frankfurt Airport, Frankfurt city center or even Cologne or Kassel. In addition, Marburg is the regional center and thus has a catchment area covering around 240,000 inhabitants.
