True to the motto, “teamwork makes the dream work”, around 800 employees of CSL Behring in Marburg again voluntarily donated the cents of their monthly net pay last year. With these seemingly small amounts, they help to support charitable projects and associations in the Marburg region, thus making one dream or another come true. The “Cents for a Good Cause” initiative has been running at CSL Behring for more than ten years. Every year, the management rounds up the amount collected to the donation total of €10,000.

In the vote on the purpose of the collection campaign, 41 percent of the participating employees voted for Menschenskinder Marburg e. V. to be the beneficiary this year. The association was founded in 2012 as a non-profit organization. It is committed to the interests of mentally ill children and adolescents in the area covered by the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the University Hospital of Marburg (UKGM).

The cents for a good cause were officially handed over on 17 March 2021. Prof. Dr. Katja Becker, Director of the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UKGM and Chairwoman of the association, said: “We are overwhelmed and grateful. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this great campaign.” Prof. Dr. Becker explained that there are already very concrete plans for how the donation will be used. “Currently, we are planning the design of our park-like outdoor area around the new building of our clinic. With the donation from CSL Behring employees, we can now think about a variety of offers for all age groups of our patients, such as outdoor fitness equipment for the teenagers or a water playground for our younger charges.”

This year, CSL Behring’s Antonia Hering, Service Expert Business Coordinator, and Sebastian Mohre, Production Planning, presented the donation on behalf of everyone who participated in the fundraising campaign. For both of them, it is always a great pleasure to see which important social projects can be supported each year with the “Cents for a Good Cause” campaign. “For each individual, it is only a small contribution, but with it we can provide great help overall,” says Antonia Hering. Sebastian Mohre adds, “It makes you proud to see what we can achieve together as a team at CSL Behring in Marburg with this fundraising campaign.”
