If everyone does their bit, we can achieve great things together – that is the idea behind CSL Behring’s “Cents for a Good Cause” initiative in Marburg. Since 2010, many colleagues at CSL Behring have been voluntarily donating the cent amounts they receive in their net pay, and management adds this to a donation of €10,000.  This is then given to a different charitable project from the Marburg region every year.

In 2019, around 1,000 colleagues took part in the collection campaign after voting on its purpose the year before, with Elterninitiative Kinderdialyse e.V. coming out on top, gaining 42 percent of the votes cast. The official handover to the association took place on 2 March 2020.

“We were thrilled to hear that the CSL Behring employees chose our association. It is a very generous donation, which will allow us to provide a good amount of support to affected families. As a specific example, the accommodation for parents at the University Hospital of Marburg is due to be refurbished,” said Mark Pfister from Elterninitiative für Kinderdialyse e.V. when he accepted the donation.

Managing Director Michael Schröder, Selina Roth from Packaging and Meike Fries from Quality presented the donation on behalf of all those who helped to raise funds. All three emphasized how important it is to support people who urgently need help. “At CSL Behring, people are at the center of all that we do. We work hard every day for our patients and strive to create the best possible working environment for our colleagues. We are also aware of our social responsibility to the people in our region. It is nice to see what can be achieved together when everyone makes a small contribution,” says Michael Schröder.
