CSL’s R&D in Marburg recently hosted the Inventors’ Lab, a dynamic and engaging workshop series for the most talented MINT (STEM) students in the region. Organized by the “Zentrum für Chemie e.V.” (ZFC), this event provided a unique opportunity for high-achieving students to immerse themselves in the world of research and development and insights into potential career paths. The Inventors’ Lab is part of the ZFC initiative “Schule 3.0 - MINT for Future,” which aims to integrate MINT subjects into schools, providing students with a solid foundation to navigate the vast information landscape.
A Week of Exploration and Learning
Throughout the week, students were given a comprehensive tour of CSL’s facilities, gaining insights into the company’s core business and philosophy. They participated in workshops and sessions led by CSL scientists, where they learned about cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices. Helen Chiang, a student from Goethe-Gymnasium Bensheim, highlighted the career talks with trainees and the leadership team: “I didn't realize how many different educational paths you can take to enter the pharmaceutical industry,” she remarked. The students then spent three days at the partner university guided by professors and academic staff, who provided lectures and seminars to support their experimental work and to explore new technologies in organic electronics, biotechnology, and the energy transition.
