On the occasion of this year's Earth Day, CSL Behring has set an example for environmental protection: With a donation of 10,000 euros, we are supporting the charity "Rettet den Burgwald" ("Save the Burgwald"), which campaigns for the protection and preservation of the local Burgwald forest.
The donation was handed over at the pond near Unterrosphe, where Dr. Niklas Schier, Managing Director and Site Head of CSL Behring GmbH, together with employees, handed over the donation to the first chairwoman Dr. Anne Archinal and other members of the board of the association. The funds for this donation come from the "Cents for a Good Cause" campaign - an initiative in which employees donate the cent amount of their net salary to charity. This amount is topped up by the local leadership team, resulting in a total of 10,000 euros for the protection of nature on our own doorstep.
After the handover, employees and their families went on a guided hike through the Burgwald forest, where they had the chance to explore and get to know the local flora and fauna.
The "Save the Burgwald" association plans to use the donation to purchase and restore an area with a pond, which will make a significant contribution to biodiversity and water retention.
"This donation is proof of our employees' and our company's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. It is part of our commitment to strengthening our region and contributing to its long-term preservation," said Dr. Niklas Schier.
With this campaign, CSL Behring is once again demonstrating that the company takes its strategic objectives seriously. CSL's global sustainability strategy comprises ten focus areas based on the three pillars of environmental, social and people aspects. At the Marburg manufacturing site, the focus is on environmental protection, energy efficiency, waste reduction and emission reduction.
