International Day of Persons with Disabilities

On 3 December, buildings around the world are shining in purple – also at CSL Behring in Marburg.

Diversity and inclusion are an integral part of the corporate culture at CSL Behring. We not only draw attention to this by illuminating our Manufacturing and Lab building M240 in purple on 3 December as part of the global #PurpleLightUp campaign – we walk the talk.

While the employment rate of severely disabled people in Germany is 4.61% on average, and as low as 4.1% in private companies alone, around 6% of CSL Behring's workforce in Germany is severely disabled. Our goal is to increase this number even further.

We are a member of the Diversity Charter, but we do not simply focus on diversity. Our employees also need to feel they belong, are treated fairly, and have access to opportunities. By participating in #PurpleLightUp, we also want to send an outward signal of recognition to our colleagues with an impairment.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been celebrated since 1992. It was established by the United Nations.
